Home education guidance: consultation
On 23 March 2022, the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, published a consultation which “seeks views on the proposed updates to the home education guidance. The guidance sets out the roles and responsibilities of local authorities and parents in relation to home education.” The new documentation is intended to supersede the existing guidance, published in 2007. Written responses to the consultation need to be submitted by 13 July.
Update 6 July: We have been informed by the Scottish Government’s Learning Directorate that the deadline for this consultation has been extended from 13 July to 31 August 2022. Th the On-line Response Form has been updated and shows the new closing date.
The latter is required only if responding by email.
